Installing a Font on your Computer

Below are instructions for downloading and installing fonts on your computer. The way you install fonts varies depending on the platform you’re using (Windows vs Mac), so we’ve included instructions for both! Once you have downloaded your font, scroll down to the installation instructions that apply to your computer.

Install fonts in Windows

To install the font follow these simple steps:

1. Unpack the zip folder that you downloaded.
2. Go to the folder with the fonts and search for the.OTF or. TTF file (we recommend you always install the OTF file if available).
3. Double-click on the font as if you are opening an application.
4. Now the font installation window will open.
5. Click Install and wait till it’s done.
6. That’s it! You have now installed a font.

If you want to use the font in an application, make sure you close the application completely and restart it after installing a new font. The font will not be visible otherwise, even though it installed correctly.

An alternative way to install a font in Windows

If for some reason the method described above doesn’t work, you can try this:

1. Unpack the zip folder that you downloaded.
2. Go to the folder with the fonts and search for the .OTF or .TTF file (we recommend you always install the OTF file if available).
3. Right-click on the font file and select install.
4. Now the font installation window will open.
5. Click Install and wait till it’s done.
6. That’s it! You have now installed a font.
7. Make sure to restart your application.

Another Alternative way to install a font in Windows

If for some reason the alternative installation method also fails, you can try:

1. Unpack the zip folder that you downloaded.
2. Click the Windows Start Button.
3. Select “Control Panel”.
4. Select “Appearance and Personalization”.
5. Select “Fonts”.
6. Copy and paste the font file that you want to install.
7. Now restart your computer and open the application that you want to use the font in.

Install a font on Mac

To install a font on Mac follow the following steps:

1. Make sure to unpack the zipped folder.
2. Go to the folder with the fonts and double click on either the OTF or TTF font file (we always recommend the OTF file).
3. After you double click a window will open with a preview of the font and a small button at the bottom saying “Install”.
4. Click install.
5. Make sure to restart your application (and if that doesn’t work restart your computer).
